Monica & Gary Johannsen delivered 50 quilts to Kelly at St Malachy Catholic Church in Madrid
A year ago, Catholic Daughters of Court Sacred Heart #408 in Spencer, along with volunteers made several hundred quilts for those affected by flooding in southwest Iowa. Mother Nature again sent destruction to a large area of Iowa. When the deracho hit, there was a need for quilts for those in the Boone, Madrid and surrounding area. Court members and volunteers again got out the sewing machines, quilting skills and fabric to make 50 quilts that have been delivered to help those in need. A prayer and a color catcher sheet were included with each quilt.

Catholic Daughters tied white ribbons on the trees at Sacred Heart for WRAP (White Ribbons Against Pornography) the week of Oct 25 - Nov 1. This is remind everyone of the harmful effects of pornography. Terry Gruhn is shown in the picture having just tied a ribbon on a tree.
Catholic Daughters met on Tuesday, October 20 for their first meeting of the year. Robin Keith a therapeutic music specialist for the Spencer Hospital talked to the group about the benefits of music and the instruments she uses in Hospice and Behavioral Health.
Catholic Daughters wants to thank everyone for their generosity in donating food items for our annual UDMO Food Collection. Items were delivered October 1 to UDMO by members: Peggy Roberts, Sue Eilers, and Monica Johannsen.
