Dear Friends of Sacred Heart School,
We are writing this letter as the community of Spencer is in the early stages of recovery from the flood event that has deeply affected people throughout the region, including many of our students, families, staff, and members of the community. The recovery will take a long time, and in many cases will have a significant financial impact, not to mention the mental, emotional and spiritual impact.
With that in mind, we have decided that this
year’s Fall Gala needs to have a different focus. While this event is typically the major fundraiser for the school, we are putting that on the back burner. Instead, this year’s Gala will primarily be a social event that is meant to give people the opportunity to gather and support one another as members of the Sacred Heart family. With a theme of “Hope Blooms: Rebuilding Together,” we will celebrate the efforts to renew our community as a whole, as well as the overall spirit within the school itself.
To that end, we have committed to reducing the cost of each Gala ticket from $75 to $50 (covering the cost of the meal, the open bar, and the entertainment) for this year. In addition, as we recognize that many businesses are also struggling, we will have a very limited number of items available for the auction this year. We will have the annual raffle for those who wish to purchase a ticket for a chance to win $5,000.
The night will be simple, but at the same time it will be a great opportunity to be together as the Sacred Heart family. So, save the date of November 9, 2024! In the wake of the recent floods, Sacred Heart has demonstrated incredible spirit and generosity. We've come together to provide crucial supplies, have hosted laundry days, organized a community festival and meal, and have offered monetary support to other local fundraisers for our community.
Our upcoming gala is a chance for us to unite and join in an evening of coming together as we continue to heal and move forward, with a little bit of fun involved! Not only will you be enjoying a memorable evening, but you are also contributing to the future success of our children and the vitality of our community.
This is usually our school’s largest fundraiser, but this year we are focused on our Sacred Heart families coming together. Ticket prices are to simply cover the cost of the catered meal, entertainment, and open bar. Any money raised from the auction will be directed towards improving our school and assist in necessary upgrades and professional trainings for our staff.
